Money Coaching

What Happens in Money Coaching?

These aren’t your regular coaching sessions. We aren’t going to tell you to stop going to your favorite coffee shop, stop traveling or stop shopping at your favorite health & beauty store. You could do all of that, but if that’s part of what gives you joy and peace, cutting those things out is not going to be sustainable. Our focus is simple: helping you understand the drivers and emotions behind your relationship with money, define your values and create habits that relieve the stress around money while also cultivating behaviors that help you reach your financial goals.

What Our Clients Are Saying

“I used to be a person who was a bit scared to really look at my money. Budgets felt restricting and I didn’t think anyone would understand the things I thought were important. Rasheeda helped me align my spending to my values. Then she gave me practical steps to slowly integrate a budget plan that worked for my lifestyle. More than anything she took the fear out of looking at my money and made me feel supported the entire journey.”

— Jenn R.

For the first time in my entire life, I FINALLY have a budget that works for me and allows me to make decisions in the moment. I know exactly where all of my money is going, and I have a clear sense of my short-term and long-term financial goals. I am well on my way to achieving my financial goals. Her coaching, insights, and patience are priceless! I feel liberated in a way that I never dreamed was possible, and working with Rasheeda has truly transformed my life.

— Jakita T.

Rasheeda is an amazing coach! After being away from budgeting for years she helped me get back on track with regular touch-points, relevant homework assignments and just an overall friendly demeanor! Even after I told her that I had the hang of the software she still checked-in with me and didn’t leave me hanging. I highly recommend Rasheeda whether you are new to budgeting, looking for something different or needing to restart.

Navigating Your Relationship with Money

  • In this self-paced course, we examine your personal history with money, focusing on what gives you peace and what causes you stress when it comes to money. I believe that, in order to create a plan for the future, we must understand the past and the root causes of why we hold certain money beliefs.

By the end of the course, you will understand your core money beliefs, define your money values, critically examine your current financial behaviors and create a plan to help you move towards your money values.

  • Four (4) self-paced, 20 minute video sessions. Light homework to apply what you’ve learned, and additional resources provided to support your money journey.

  • $25

  • Money is emotional, and rooted in our life experiences. We can make a budget all day long, using “conventional wisdom” about how much or what percentage of our income we should spend on what items. But if we don’t understand what really drives our emotions and, subsequently, our behavior, around money, the budget will do no good. This course is a first step on your journey to not having a budget, but taking control of your finances in a way that is true to YOU and your needs.

Black women talking

Let’s Talk Money

  • Do you want to handle your money differently, but aren’t sure about how to get started? Or perhaps you want to think through paying off debt and growing your savings, or you have some money coming in and want to strategize about what to do with it.

Sometimes all you need is someone to bounce things off and give you some perspective, and that's what this session is all about. Let's sit down (virtually ;-)), and talk. If you have something you want me to look at, we can share screens during our call. The goal is to get you on the path to where you want to be!

  • Varies. I offer 90 minute sessions in 1, 2 and 3 session packages. On our intro call, we will work together to figure out what is the best fit for your situation.

  • $200 - $500

  • Only you can answer that question. Personal finance is something you can absolutely figure out on your own. You do not have to have a coach. Many of my clients choose a money coach because they need a thought partner, or want some level of accountability, someone to check in with them from time to time. Our engagements can be one-off, a few or recurring. It’s all about what fits your situation and your needs, with the goal being to work myself out of a job — you get so comfortable you don’t need me anymore. I always start with a free intro call, and if it turns out you don’t need the service, know that I will be transparent about that.

  • I offer coaching Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays during normal business hours, EST. Evening and weekend coaching is not offered at this time.

  • Have you ever tried or wanted to try YNAB (You Need A Budget) for managing your money, but, even after checking out the YNAB training videos or even some YouTube videos and the super-helpful FB community, you still got stuck? Or did you just say no because you don’t have the time or want to spend the time watching videos to figure it out and would prefer someone just walk you through it? Perhaps you’ve been using YNAB but need some individualized help to ensure you’re on the right track. Well, guess what?!? I can help you!

As a YNAB Certified Coach, I will sit down with you one-on-one to help you setup YNAB, align it to your priorities, and create the habits and routines to fit your lifestyle for long-term success. Book your free discovery call below and let’s see how I can help you!

Disclaimer: I am a YNAB Certified Budgeting Coach, which means that I have been trained to coach people on using YNAB software and the YNAB budgeting method. I have met select requirements of You Need a Budget LLC in order to receive this certification, which means that I have the ability to competently coach YNAB to others. I am not an employee of YNAB, and all non-YNAB related opinions and recommendations are my own. My views do not reflect the views of YNAB and its employees or its affiliates.

  • I offer two packages to new clients desiring help with YNAB setup:

    1) YNAB Setup Only: a 5 week, 60 mins per week program that gets you properly setup on YNAB and on your way.

    2) YNAB 3 Month Program: You get initial setup plus support for 2 additional months to provide accountability and support for making YNAB a part of your daily habits, to help ensure long-term success.

If you have been utilizing YNAB and need someone to look things over for you or help you over a few hurdles, I recommend booking one of the “Let’s Talk About Money” sessions, as a single session will likely get you what you need.

All packages include unlimited email and, where desired, text communications M-F during normal business hours, so you’re never left to go-it alone.

  • Varies by package. I will review pricing during your free intro call

  • Currently Booking New Clients to start in: April and May 2023

I offer coaching Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays during normal business hours, EST. Evening and weekend coaching is not offered at this time.

  • Only you can answer that question. You can be very successful with YNAB by leveraging the resources, and I’ve linked the most helpful ones in the description of services. But if you’re the type of person who would prefer to have someone step them through it live, or needs additional check-ins and accountability, coaching may be the right fit for you. That’s why I do the free discovery call first - to hear about your needs and goals, and make a recommendation as to whether YNAB Coaching is a good fit for you and whether you and I are a good fit together. Even if we aren’t, I always provide information and resources that may help with your situation.

About the Coach - Rasheeda N. Creighton

In 2015, I walked away from a failing marriage with a 1.5 year old child, a net six-figure income, $200 in the bank and $200,000 in debt (excluding my mortgages). What looked on the outside like success: degrees from top undergraduate and law schools, climbing the corporate success ladder, 4500 sq. ft home, husband, “ideal” blended family; was all a mirage. And when my marriage ended, I decided the mirage would end too. I was afraid of looking like a stereotype: single Black mother can’t be successful in her professional and personal life - you have to pick one, but I was more afraid of continuing to live an inauthentic life.

Within 4 years, all of the debt except student loans and my one remaining mortgage was paid off, I left a successful corporate career to launch 3 profitable businesses, and I (and my daughter) was thriving in every area of my life. There are many reasons for this (therapy and prayer being foundational), but one of the key areas was finding my way to Financial Freedom.

Financial Freedom, as I define it, is the freedom to make decisions based on my core values and interests, not based on the need to pay bills. But you can’t get there if you don’t know what gives you financial security, what you want life to look like when finances aren’t a burden or if you have no idea where your finances really are. Financial Coaching has entered the group chat.
